New cases of yellow fever were recently reported in Brazil, even in areas previously known as non-risk zones. A general national vaccination campaign was started.

Our advice remains unchanged: all travelers to any region in Brazil should be vaccinated against this viral disease transmitted by mosquitoes. Travelers visiting Sao Paolo or Rio de Janeiro to celebrate carnival should also be vaccinated against yellow fever.

For travelers younger than 9 months or older than 60 years, the physician must weigh the pros and cons of vaccination.
